well this may not mean much to many of you - however if you are waiting .... and waiting .... and waiting for your house to commence construction...... the the appearance of red pegs means that things are starting :-)

Lighting......

I have been like a maniac lately researching all different things for our home and one area that I have narrowed down are some of our feature lights

I have found this one which I want as you walk into the front entry  - I think it is STUNNING!!

Then I have decided to go with 3 of these little beauties over our 3.38metres of island bench

as for the exterior - this is still a bit uncertain. We have 2 pillars at the front which I want a feature light on.

this is the front runner at the moment -

My Dream kitchen

We are getting there slowly with the kitchen - and after a few initial hiccoughs - thankfully Ben the owner of Artline kitchens has come to the rescue and things are getting back on track (well I hope they are)

Thankfully in the last 12 months Masterton have started being able to offer their clients an upgraded kitchen - so if like me you want a french provincial styled bells & whistles kitchen - then with in reason you can have one. Sure we have some constraints to work with - but I get that - but I am also able to have my beautiful 110cm Falcon stove - complete with mantelpiece and a few other customised bits.......

This was a make or break with me - if I had to have a "display home" kitchen - then I wasn't really interested - luckily some of the project home builders - Masterton in particular - have realised that they needed to be able to allow clients some choice - lucky for me :-)

this is the style I am after

thanks to my clever sister-in-law Cindy - she has helped me decide on a white for the polyurethane cabinetry - who would have thought that choosing a white could be soooo difficult

Exterior colours choices

Well after having to remember how to log onto my blog - I thought I had better update it - so much has happened. My last post was a few months ago - WOW - hasn't a lot happened

We have just had our plans approved by Pitt Town Water - so off to Council ... YAY
I have to say that I thought I was a FAIRLY  patient person - but this waiting has driven me crazy!!

To fill in some of the gaps since my last post:

We have selected the all the exterior colours for  the house

Our Bricks are going to be a sandstock brick from PGH - the colour is called Chatswood

The roof tiles are a charcoal colour called "Barramundi"

with Woodland grey guttering and surf mist fascia - our garage door will also be surf mist
(sorry to whoever's garage door THIS one is - I just couldn't find a decent pic :-)

Another product we are looking at for the loungeroom will be a gas fireplace. The guys at Hawkesbury Heating seem very good - and have a wide range of brands

Lopi 564 GS

This one is a LOPI - and we would have the mandatory mantlepiece :-)  - gotta have somewhere for the Christmas Stockings LOL

Lighting Ideas

I have been surfing the net - looking for ideas - amazing what Ikea has for the price. I have seen some beautiful pendant lights that I think would look great over the kitchen island bench. Some have been well over $600.00 (I did see one that was something crazy like $2,000.00 - and I want 3 !!!)
..... then I look at pendant lights on the IKEA site - and what do you know $59.00 ... which is definitely in my prie range .... LOL
